One platform for the whole load life cycle

01. The challenge

What made this hard.

A freight operation touches every step of a load: carrier and driver onboarding, load intake and pricing, matching, dispatch, delivery appointments, proof of delivery and invoicing. When each step lives in a different tool, data is re-keyed between systems and nobody sees the whole load.

Drivers work at the roadside, often without signal, while shippers and dispatchers need a live picture of every vehicle. The platform had to serve both without losing updates in between.

02. What we built

The platform we designed and built.

We designed and built one platform for the whole load life cycle: web portals for shippers and carriers, and a mobile app for drivers, all working from the same records.

Live GPS tracking feeds ETA, delay and route alerts to dispatchers, the driver app keeps working offline and syncs when a signal returns, and AI-assisted planning was architected on top of the operational data.

One load life cycle

Onboarding, load intake, pricing, matching, scheduling, proof of delivery and invoicing in one system.

Live tracking and alerts

GPS tracking with ETA, delay, off-route and geofence alerts for dispatchers.

Offline-first driver app

Drivers keep working without signal, and updates sync the moment it returns.

AI-assisted planning

Architected to support planners, with every recommendation logged for review.

03. Architecture & technology

How it is put together.

An Angular web front end for shippers, carriers and operations, a Flutter driver app, and Java / Spring Boot and Python services on Google Cloud (GKE, Pub/Sub), with MySQL and Redis for operational data and Vertex AI with Google ADK for the planning layer.

04. Outcome

Where it stands today.

Shippers, carriers, dispatchers and drivers work from one record of each load, so information is entered once and follows the load from booking to payment.

The AI-assisted planning layer is designed so planners stay in control: it proposes, logs its reasoning and leaves the decision with a person.
